It is hard to believe that a month has passed since our Annual Conference in San Diego, CA. What an incredible meeting it was! This was a hybrid meeting with 485 Neurodiagnostic professionals attending in person and 329 who took advantage of our virtual sessions. I can’t thank the ASET staff enough for their incredible work! All their hard work paid off. I also want to thank our sponsors and vendors who made it all possible. The energy there was so palpable, positive, and nurturing. If you haven’t attended a meeting, or if it has been a while since you have joined in person, you should really consider attending next August in Louisville, KY. Remember that the ASET Foundation has a number of scholarships to help you attend the conference for free. Some of the scholarships even cover travel expenses, so spread the word, bring a friend, and come see me in Louisville.
The Board of Trustees met just prior to the Annual Conference, and I have to say, you have elected an amazing Board. Each person is deeply committed to representing you and has a passion for serving. Everyone understands that we represent the Society, and your voice is heard through them. We are full steam ahead in pressing forward with our Society’s strategic initiatives. Each committee and task force now has a chairperson(s) and associated liaisons. I look forward to seeing the work that will come forth.
I encourage you all to use the tools that ASET has on our website. Remember that we have a Career Ladder that reinforces what a qualified workforce is and pathways to elevate our profession. Nobody can advocate more for the profession better than you and ASET. As a collective, let’s continue to drive our profession in a positive direction.
A reminder to all that Membership renewal begins October 1. If you know of people who are not members, encourage them to join along with you. The more members that we have, the louder our collective voice can be heard. Also, remember that we are not just an American Society, so let the ripples be seen around the world. Don’t hesitate to contact the ASET office if you have any questions about membership and what the MANY benefits are for you.
Additionally, a reminder for anyone who has ABRET credentials coming up for renewal. We have a lot of educational products (online courses, journal quizzes, and webinars) that support your credentials. Don’t wait until the last minute to earn CEUs.
I would be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge Connie Kubiak for all of her dedication and hard work these past few years. She took the curveballs thrown at her and still managed to hit home runs! Thank you, Connie, for the sacrifices that you made for the benefit of our Society. We all are very grateful to you! I look forward to transitioning with you as the Past President and walking forward with Emily Kale as the President-Elect. I am excited to be a part of ASET! Thank you all for your support!
We, as a nation, continue to navigate uncertain waters, and I want to thank each of you for what you do every day. You selflessly put yourselves out there to care for others. The lives that you touch are forever benefited because of the love that you pour out. Each encounter makes a difference in this world. Sincerely, THANK YOU for what you do on the front lines. Stay Safe.
I am honored to serve you as ASET President!
