Jennifer Montgomery is ASET’s latest hire, joining us as the Governmental & Grassroots Advocacy Manager. Originally from Blacksburg, Virginia, Jennifer earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Radford University. She will be relocating from the Virginia Beach area to Kansas City in the next few weeks.
Prior to accepting her new position at ASET, Jennifer served as an Executive Director in the economic development and the Midwest grape and wine industries. She also has an extensive background in lobbying and government relations, both at the state and federal levels. She began her career in government relations as a legislative analyst for a lobbying firm in Richmond Virginia, working sessions of the Virginia General Assembly on behalf of multiple clients. From there, she moved on to become the Director of Grassroots and Political Affairs for the national trade association of American wineries in Washington DC where she spent a decade as a lobbyist and grassroots professional.
“I am passionate about public policy and getting others engaged in the process,” says Jennifer, “I think that being part of that process and helping lawmakers make sound policy decisions is critically important and absolutely necessary.”
Jennifer is looking forward to her new role with ASET and working closely with the Governmental Advocacy Committee and ASET members. “When I was presented with this opportunity to work for ASET, I was exceptionally excited about it as it combines two things that I am intensely interested in, neurodiagnostics and grassroots advocacy. My interest in neurodiagnostics stems from family experience, so this was a chance to help make a difference for something I really care about,” she says.
