The Editorial Board is pleased to announce several additions and changes to the Board. The Associate Editor is a new position on the Editorial Board. Associate Editors will assume the responsibility for managing manuscripts through the peer review process for the Journal by using their professional networks to identify quality reviewers and provide guidance for new reviewers as needed. Associate Editors will work to ensure that timely reviews are received and will provide a decision recommendation to the Managing Editor for manuscripts assigned to them.
Rajesh P. Poothrikovil, R. EEG/EP T., RPSGT, RST, is a Senior Technologist in Clinical Neurophysiology at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital in Oman and will serve as the Associate Editor of Adult EEG. Rajesh has published 9 papers in the Journal since 2009 and has served as a reviewer since 2019.
Jun T. Park, M.D., FAES, FACNS, is a Pediatric Epileptologist at University Hospitals, Rainbow Babies & Children’s and an Associate Professor of Pediatric Epilepsy at Case Western University School of Medicine. Dr. Park has published 2 papers in our journal and has served as a reviewer since 2015. Dr. Park will serve as the Associate Editor of Pediatric LTM.
Amar B. Bhatt, M.D., is the Program Director of Neurology Residency and Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurological Sciences at Rush University. Dr. Bhatt has authored 2 papers in the Journal and has been a reviewer since 2017. Dr. Bhatt will serve as the Associate Editor of Adult ICU/cEEG and Neurocritical Care.
Justin W. Silverstein, DHSc, CNIM, R. EP T., CNCT, R.NCS.T., is the CEO of Neuro Protective Solutions, LLC. Justin has published 9 papers in the Journal (with another one currently in review) and has served as a reviewer since 2016. Justin was also the 2020 recipient of the prestigious Maureen Berkeley Award. Justin will serve as the Associate Editor for Nerve Conduction Studies and IONM.
As with the recent IONM Specialty Issue published in March earlier this year, the Journal receives a growing number of IONM-related papers. Therefore, the Editorial Board has developed a team of IONM Associate Editors. Jeff Balzer, Ph.D., DABNM, FASNM, is the Director of Clinical Services at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and Jay Shils, Ph.D., D.ABNM, FASNM, is the Director of IONM at Rush University.
Jeff and Jay have been active in the Journal serving as both authors and reviewers, and recently as Guest Editors for the IONM Specialty Issue. They will join Faisal Jahangiri, M.D., CNIM, D.ABNM, FASNM, FASET, who has served as Assistant Editor for the Journal since 2015, and Justin Silverstein as our new Associate Editors for IONM.
Lastly, we regret to inform you that Kathy Johnson, R. EEG/EP T., RPSGT, FASET, recently resigned her position as the Journal’s Media Review Editor. Kathy joined the Editorial Board in 2013. We are very sorry to see her go but wish her all the best and fun times in her retirement and hold out hope in receiving a future manuscript (or few!), as Kathy is a wealth of knowledge in our field.
